Information for Parents, Guardians and Students: All Classes at SRSB Schools CANCELLED Beginning Monday, December 5, 2016
Dear Parents, Guardians and Students:
Earlier today, the Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development announced that classes at all public schools in Nova Scotia are cancelled for students only, beginning on Monday, December 5, 2016, and until further notice, due to concerns about student supervision.
Please access the following link to the communication issued by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development today: Information Notice for Parents and Guardians: Public Schools Closed to Students.
Work locations (including schools) remain open for all employees, including teachers. All employees are expected to report to work. Programs such as SchoolsPlus, the STEP Program, private Day Care Programs, and Early Years Centres, as well as community groups that use school buildings during the day and/or after-school hours, will not be affected by this cancellation.
We know that the uncertainty of the situation has created a tremendous level of anxiety and concern for everyone. We will continue to do our best to keep you informed by sharing information as it becomes available on the Strait Regional School Board website, www.srsb.ca, and on Twitter (@StraitRSB).
