The Sherbrooke Lions’ Club hosted their annual Speak Out competition on February 29th. The Speak Out competition is a public speaking contest open to any students in grades 10 to 12. This year there were three participants that wrote and delivered their own speeches. Madison Harpell placed 3rd with her speech – “What is Important in Life?” Grace Baker placed 2nd with her speech – “Five Lessons that Should Be Taught in School” and Nicole Burns placed 1st with her speech – “Cellphones’ Negative Effects on Society.” Well done girls!! Nicole will now move on to compete in the Zone competition in Antigonish on March 15th.
